gr_poly_deflation returns the largest $m$ such that $f = g(x^m)$ for a polynomial $g$ : 0 for $f = 0$ , 1 for a nonzero constant, and $n$ for a monomial $c x^n$ with $n \ge 1$ . A coefficient that is not provably zero counts as nonzero, so the value is always valid but need not be maximal over inexact rings. gr_poly_deflate sets res to $g$ given $m \ge 1$ (GR_DOMAIN for $m = 0$ ); $f$ is assumed to have this form.
